The Streetwires Nguni range centers around the legendary Nguni cattle, the beloved herds of the Xhosa and other tribes of Southern Africa. These richly patterned, hardy and handsome animals have inspired countless songwriters, praise singers, poets and artists throughout South African history and continue to inspire our work here at Streetwires today.
The Nguni cow art pieces were brought to life through a year-long collaboration between talented Streetwires designer Michaela Howse and principal Streetwires artist Elias Kahari. Each piece is 100% handcrafted, with great care given to intricacies like body shape, hide patterns and colouring, in an effort to remain true to the original animal from whence their inspiration was drawn.
